Magilligan Pure Pot Still Irish Whisky Nose: Light, nutty edge, moving into dried peach, mixed herbs, turf and wood shavings. Seems young with an aroma akin to wet pavements after the rain. Palate: Buttery and tongue-coating. Sweet: a juicy centre then a crisp maltiness. Big and robust with good malty attack. Fine, sweet mid-palate.Spiciness and biscuity maltiness provide a balance. Finish: Peppery and spicy. Comment: A boisterous, roistering, very quaffable malt. Developing some weight. An older example will be interesting.
