Elijah Craig Bourbon has a nose that just about nudging perfection: salty but balanced infused with delicate fruity notes. On the palate the Rye hits every corner of the mouth: light oils and myriad oaky, complex notes to the roof. Firm, malty, sweet. Some malty fruitiness. The Finish is a slow build up of slightly molassed sweetness and vanilla leaves a lingering, smoky, phenolic finale. This (along with Evan Williams 12) is the finest whisky from the house of Heaven Hill. perilously drinkable, appertising bourbon.
