Jack Daniels Single Barrel Bourbon has a nose thats almost stiffly phenolic: you can cut through the sweet roasty, oaky intensity, much oakier than a typical Jack Daniel's. On the palate Jack Daniels Single Barrel Bourbon is noticably rounder. Polished oak. New leather. You less taste than eat this stuff... lovely oily middle with plenty of trademark burnt liquorice. On the finish, Jack Daniels Single Barrel Bourbon has small grains which bravely fight their way through, first rye then malt. But the rye returns with the liquorice for the surprisingly refined finale. Jack Daniels Single Barrel Bourbon is an interesting interplay of Jack Daniel's house character and a more luxurious oakiness.
