Cantillon Kriek pours a deep-dark burgundy red, nearly purple with a little head. The aroma smells of juicy ripe cherries, like a fruit wine, still containing some fermentable fruit sugars. The taste has even more wine-notes, as from young wine. There is an acetic touch underneath, tannins. Very sour. Mouthfeel is outspoken drying-out effect from acids and tannins. In the aftertaste the fruit goes on and on...
