Antica Black Sambuca 70cl

The name sambuca originates from the latin name of the elder tree - sambuca nigra, growing in abundance in Italy from where its oils are used in its production, before adding the white elder blossoms, which after distillation, along with the anise seeds and other ingredients, create a unique flavour with its dark purple-black colour derived from elder berries. Sweet cordial and licorice aromas. Very hot and spicy on the palate with a heavy note of black licorice that lingers on the finish. Thick, sweet and syrupy. Quite complex. A perfect after dinner drink or as an apperitif, served with a twist of lemon and sure to please the palate.
