Appleton Estate is the oldest and most famous of all of Jamaica's sugar estates. The origins of Appleton Estate date back to 1655 when the English captured Jamaica from the Spaniards. Appleton Estate VX Rum pours amber with a deep copper cast. Moderately full-bodied. Musk oil and caramel nose displays a touch of heat. Reminiscent of stone fruits, flan, herbs. A buoyant entry leads to a dry light-to medium-bodied palate with light treacle, wet straw, and cane notes. Thick texture. Very viscous, with a rich silky feel that is delightful. Quite pronounced in its fruity components. Finishes with a hot, peppery, unripe fruit fade. Appleton Estate VX a simple, dry dark rum good for cocktails.
