Barbados is generally regarded as the birthplace of rum, or rumbullion as it was originally called nearly 350 years ago. The famous cockspur brand, with its proud and colourful 'rooster' symbol has been an integral part of Barbados life since Danish merchant Valdemar Hanschell set up his first ship's chandlery and liquor store there in the 1800's. Since then it has grown to become Barbados' leading golden rum, winning numerous awards at international competitions.
Cockspur is an expert blend of superior rum, aged in oak barrels to smooth and mellow the spirit. This combination of ageing and blending, along with the pure coral spring water used in the process, determines the unique character for which cockspur is renowned. Drink it straight,on ice,or with your favourite mixer.
