Moniack Sloe Gin Liqueur from Moniack Castle, which is in turn a semi-fortified country house built in the mid 1500s. Much more interesting was the fact that it now houses a winery from which Moniack Sloe Liqueur is made. Due to its strength it should be classed as more of a liqueur than as a Gin. Moniack Sloe Gin Liqueur is a robust full-flavoured liqueur, well known and long appreciated in Britain. The Sloe Berry is the fruit of the Blackthorn bush and is carefully blended and fortified to make this excellent drink. It is traditionally imbibed on sporting occassions and can also be enjoyed after dinner, it has all the particular qualities of sloe gin
