In 1888 Spyros Metaxa, by blending only the finest matured wine distillates with the selected sun soaked grapes of Attica, created this distintive spirit giving it a unique smooth and mellow taste, neat, or on the rocks. The exact formula has remained a closely garded secret ever since. Metaxa is as unique as the sunny land from which it comes. Although, Metaxa is only called 'a brandy' it is really so much more. This is a distilled spirit made from red grapes. Actually, it is a blend of spirits made from the grapes of various Greek wines. Metaxa Five Star is dark, honey color. Woody with a light fruity taste and is aged in oak for five years.
