Germany is a land of bucket-size steins meant to be filled with delicious, truly drinkable beer. In Kulmbach, in the center of the country - not far from the western border of old Bohemia - the best balance between the malty and hoppy elements of a classic Pils is achieved. Eku Pilsner, a soft, spritzy German pilsner, is the lightest brew in this category -- perfect for those enormous steins. But that doesn't mean it's short on taste. Pours with a creamy white head. Clean pale malt aromas with a hint of spicy hops. Crisp and dry on the medium-bodied palate with a hint of malt sweetness and bitter hops on the finish. Crisply bitter but rounded out by a subtle malt flavour, it's perfect for sipping or, if you must, chugging. A highly drinkable and refreshing style of Pilsner.
