(Bock Bier) Schneider Aventinus 50cl

Quite possibly the most hedonistic dark beer around - both for aroma complexities and smoothness of flavours. Aventinus pours a cloudy maroonish brown colour producing a big head which settles down to about a finger's width about the glass. Streams of bubbles add to the head as they ascend from the bottom. Its a very intense wheat doppelbock with a complex spicy chocolate-like arome with a hint of banana and raisins clove and cherry. It showed a touch of malty sweetness, with hints of cocoa and molasses, and definite bananas and spicy floral/citrus notes. Not a heavy beer, it combines much of the richness of a true double bock with the smoothness and fascinating complexities of a fine exciting German wheat beer!!! Totally delicious!!!!
