Traquair House Ale 33cl
Traquair House Ale is a dark ruby-red ale with a rich, sweet, malty, treacly aroma with lots of aroma hops (Goldings). On the palate Traquair House Ale is full of malty sweetness, but this is countered by stacks of hop bitterness. The malt flavours are very complex - there is heavy, bitter chocolate and treacly malt, but also lots of lighter caramel - clearly the result of two different malts. There is a smoky, peaty, woody spirit kick to it, very much like a malt whisky. Aftertaste is intensely malty and sweet, with a mouth-coating flavour.
