St Peter's Old Style Porter pours out of the medecine bottle a nice dark brown/ruby colour with a very white head that leaves pretty good lace. Aroma of very sweet malts, sugary candy, caramel, and mocha coffee. Old Style Porter follows with good caramel chocolatey flavour and dark malts. lacking in roastiness, but makes up for it in creamy vanilla type flavours. Again, the dark fruit is present and as the beer warms there develops a noticeable smokiness as well. Mouthfeel is tangy and fizzy, but solid. Old Style Porter is well balanced and serviceable, Sweet and light and fruity, but dense, dark, and bitterly chocolate, all at the same time, quite complex.
