Rudgate Battle Axe Bitter 50cl
Rudgate Brewery ferment using Yorkshire open square vessels like Black Sheep. Battle Axe Bitter poured initially with a thick off white head that sank back to faint whispy layer of bubbles. Chestnut Red in colour with a Buttery nose with raisins and malt offset but a good hop aroma. The brewery uses pale, crystal and chocolate malts in this tasty brew, giving it a very malty flavour with nuts and fruit. Lots of fruit and malt in the mouth, slightly chocolately, very easy bitterness, with a nice dry finish and hints of sweet toffee. A smooth quality ale.
