Ossett Treacle Stout 50cl

Ossett Treacle Stout pours a dark brown colour with a big head. On the nose are treacle and toffee notes with hints of chocolate. Sweet flavours with smokiness and chocolate and hint of berries, red fruit and perhaps a little sherbet - with some roastiness, smoke and a fair amount of hop bitterness. Treacle Stout malty complexity comes from roasted and flaked barley, and pale malts. As well as chocolate and some obvious treacle notes, the aftertaste develops the bitterness to quite a degree. Treacle Stout is a well conditioned beer, complex and rich yet balanced and well worth a try. Voted Regional Champion Beer at the prestigious Society of Independent Brewers (SIBA) Beer Awards 2007
