Harviestoun Schiehallion Lager Beer pours a clear pale gold, with the initially spritzy white head becoming quite firm with patches of lace. Nose is hoppy and fruity, with citrus notes including limes and a touch of grapefruit. The citrusy hops are also abundant in the mouth, with lemon, lime, grapefruit and even pineapple. Schiehallion Lager Beer is bitter-sweet, thanks to a balancing light malt flavour. The hops used are Hersbrücker and Challenger. It is also not overcarbonated (a point is made on the label about the low level of carbonation). A more hop note becomes apparent in the finish, leading to a citrusy, grapefruity, bitter aftertaste. An excellent, refreshing and very drinkable beer.
