Daleside Crackshot Ale 50cl

Daleside Crackshot Ale is named to commemorate Jane Ingilby, a Royalist trooper in the English Civil War, this follows an original 17th-century recipe, utilising malted oats in addition to the usual ingredients. Daleside Crackshot Ale pours a dark amber colour, with a foamy, lasting head. Aroma is slightly sweet, with malt, toast and some caramel evident. On the palate it is also sweetish, with a malty emphasis. There are toasty, biscuity notes present, with some bitterness from the gentle hop character. Fruit is also present - berries and currants. Aftertaste is of bitter-sweet malt. The blend of malted oats with malted barley actually works very well, an excellent hand-crafted ale.
