Daleside Morocco Ale 50cl

It is dark in colour with a short-lived brownish head. Aroma is smoky and hoppy, with fruity, estery elements. On the palate there is an immediate rush of complex fruity malt flavours - plums, blackberries and juniper berries - but with lighter estery and phenolic notes too, plus a subtle hint of spice. There is a little sweetness, but this is more than compensated for by the malty, treacly bitterness. The subdued hop content adds to its dry character. It is also quite tart, again bringing to mind wild berries. Aftertaste is darkly malty, fruity and lingering. Undeniably a terrific, complex strong ale - one for malt-lovers to look out for
