Rumpy Pumpy Bitter is billed as a clean hoppy session beer 'in the best possible taste'. The beer itself is very interesting. It's bottle conditioned (as are most of the Wessex Craft beers), but no sign of yeast when pouring but with a slight yeasty taste. There's a distinctive flavour that's beyond the name. Its hazy amber in colour with a small off-white head. The aroma is sweet and spicy with coriander standing out. The flavour is also sweet and spicy, but with notes of oranges and a with a good bitterness, the fruity sourness is like a lambic beer, that marks this out. Rumpy Pumpy Bitter a fruity and sweet flavour with a nice grassy and bitter finish.
