Cairngorm Sheepshaggers Gold Beer 50cl

Sheepshaggers Gold beer from Cairngorm Brewery who have taken over the Aviemore brewery, though the beers are still sold in cask under the Aviemore name. Sheepshaggers Gold is a flavoursome Blond beer, a light golden ale, almost a continental lager style. With some licorice notes in the aroma, and caramel Scotch Ale notes in the flavour, with a gentle malt influance with spice overtones. The variety of hops creates a subtle bitterness subsiding to a smooth palate. More malty than expected for a blond beer, with no great hop bite, the Sweet maltiness takes a back seat to the overall sparkling dryness with a very smooth finish. Very much a Scottish interpretation of this popular style. An interesting ale.
