Negra Modelo Beer is described by the brewery as 'la crema de la cerveza', this is a dark lager from one of the two Mexican breweries. It pours more a golden amber colour, with a foamy cream colored head, Negra Modelo has a gentle sweetness and subtle maltiness about it, slightly caramel, slightly spicy, with a nice restrained malt tinge. certainly not full bodied for a dark beer, and this is reflected in the flavour. It has a well balanced bitter finish that is a little tangy but doesnt get carried away and starts to kick in just when you fear it might just be getting a bit too sweet. Negra Modelo perfect for downing with any rich mexican dish.
