Coniston Brewery Old Man Ale 50cl

Coniston Brewery Old Man Ale name comes from Coniston Old Man, a mountain overshadowing the Coniston brewery. It pours a chestnut brown colour, with a lightly bubbly head. Nose is extremely fruity - apples, plums and bananas are all noticeable, although these become more obvious as the beer warms. In the mouth Coniston Brewery Old Man Ale is initially malty, with caramel, toffee and dark fruit flavours, plus a roasty, grainy touch. The hops soon kick in to balance it, giving it a bitter, dry, slightly lemony character, (Challenger hops are used), although the malt is still the dominant flavour. Finish is of bitter, crunchy roast malt and a touch of flowery hop. Coniston Brewery Old Man Ale a well-balanced and fairly complex, very enjoyable after a hard day's walking in the Lakes
