Ridgeway Brewery Bad King John Ale pours with a clear mahogany body and a creamy light beige head that leaves nice lacing. The aroma is medium sweet, with chocolate and caramel, and some roast, earthy notes. Taste is of delicious roasted malts with a hint of honey-caramel, coffee and smoke. Bad King John Ale has a creamy texture that melds well with the delicate carbonation. A Decent malty body and Dry feel, good roastiness and light chocolate. Some liquorice at the far end. Bad King John Ale is a reasonably non-aggressive Black Ale, which is nice to see. Bottle conditioning of course helps. A pleasant surprise
