Maudite 33cl

Maudite is a strong bottle-conditioned beer from Quebec. Maudite pours a rich ruby colour with a bubbly, short-lived head and an incredible nose of red fruit (raspberries) and rich, sweet malt. On the palate it is very lively, fruity (dates, with some raspberry discernible) and quite bitter. The strength is apparent in a spirit-like quality on the roof of the mouth. Although it is still very malty in the mouth, it is certainly much less sweet than the nose would suggest. Maudite has a rich and fruity finish. An interesting beer, which would perhaps be best as an digestif or a nightcap.
