Fin du Monde 33cl

Fin du Monde is a triple-fermented BCA from Canadian brewery Unibroue, and is very much in the tripel style. Fin du Monde has a richly fruity nose, almost like a gueuze - apples, tangerines and grapes are all present. The head is frothy and fairly long-lasting. On the palate it is malty, developing quickly into the complex fruit notes found in the nose, particularly apples. There is also a sweetish spirit kick that gives away the strength. It has a zesty hop bitterness, which is drawn out into a piquant, zesty, fruity finish. Aftertaste is of fruity malt, with hop flowers on the roof of the mouth. Mixing the yeast in serves to enhance the bitterness. Despite a little sweetness, the rich hop character and malty fruit notes make this is an exceptionally well-balanced strong ale.
