Longmorn 15 year old Malt Whisky. The Longmorn Distillery stands in the deepest part of the Scottish Highlands, on the site of a ancient chapel. This whisky has been distilled and matured in exactly the same way for more than 100 years. This is a small distillery, but a great one, making a great whisky. On the nose Soft, with those baked fruits again ( peach, apple ) with caramel, sticky toffee pudding and a hint of damp chamois leather. The palate Smooth, sweetish, delicious, clean. Spun sugar. Never cloying, though. Crunchy dryness. The finish Flowery. Rose water. Briar-like dryness, nutty. Comment Longmorn is aged in oak casks for more than 15 years, it is firm in flavour, but smooth by age.
