Braes of Glenlivet Malt Whisky 1975 bottled 2006, Braes of Glenlivet was founded in 1973 under the name "Braes of Glenlivet", the distillery was intended to produce malt exclusively for the needs of the blenders. Nose: Woody, resiny. Oak with cedar. Good variety of spices (cloves, cardamom). Fruit aromas. A Christmas stocking that contains toffees, chocolates, perfume and soap. Palate: Robust without being agressive. Sweet malty and honeyed flavours, then liquorice. Very lightly syrupy. Chocolate. Soft caramel. Suggestions of Mars Bars or Rolo chocolates. Finish: Warm and lasting. Liquorice and spices. Comment: The Sauternes finish mellows the oak.
