(Speyside Central) Auchroisk Malt Whisky 1993 70cl

Auchroisk Malt Whisky 1993 bottled 2006, A relatively young distillery, built in 1974 by Justerini & Brooks, Auchroisk (pronounced "oth-rusk”). The distillery is on the main road between Craigellachie and Keith. Matured in Refill American Hogsheads, this is a pleasant, easy going malt from a little known distillery. Nose: Light soft and creamy. American cream soda, custard and cooked apple/bread and butter pudding with nutty malt underneath. Palate: Very soft and sweet. Straight down the middle. Quite big. Firm. Appetising and full of flavours. Sweetish. Distinct anis. Liqueur-ish. Finish: Soft. Cookie-like dryness. Comment: This version is not obviously sherryish, but still manages very big flavours indeed. I'm very impressed Very soft, direct.

Strength: 43.00% ABV
