(Western Highland) Glenlochy 1968 Malt Whisky 70cl

Glenlochy 1968 Rare old Malt Whisky. Under variouse owners production continued until 1983, when the distillery was definitely closed, just like so many others in those times. Nose: Rich. Sweet orange marmalade. Vanilla pods. elegant oakiness. Passion fruit, honeyed apples. Palate: Firm but silky-smooth. Waxed orange skins. Nutty. Grainy. Suggestion of coffee. Very smooth and syrupy like a liqueur. Wood does its stuff. A pleasant creaminess. Finish: rather long, and the woody taste of the palate fades slowly to finish on nice malty notes. Peppery. Bison grass. Peaty, smoky. Some bitterness. Dry, oaky with a hint of burnt wood. Almond milk. Quickly dries out with spices. Comment: A big dram that needs a splash.
