Dalmore Malt Whisky 1992 bottled 2006 Nose: Fresh and fruity. A briny edge that fits with the sweetest of malts. Invigorating. Palate: A fanfare of sweet malt makes a brilliant arrival. Possible to detect deliciously burnt fudge, roast chestnuts and much more besides. Massively chewy and a little smoky. That off note persists throughout but is little more than a background screen against the delicious demerara sweetness. Finish: Amazingly long and dry. A more peppery version of what went before. Comment: Extraordinarily sweet - but an engaging curiosity. This pale, golden Dalmore, without the sherry, has an especially characteristic touch of amontillado.
